BEACHES ON PAXOS - MARMARI

Marmari is my favourite beach within walking distance of Loggos (about 15 minutes) and it’s known as the second beach, as it’s the one after Levrekio. To get to it you walk past the taverna on Levrekio Beach (the first beach) and then inland. You then take the second path on the left which will lead you down through the olive groves to the beach.

Marmari Beach is a wonderful sheltered bay of shingle and is great for diving and swimming, as the sea is so very clean like everywhere on Paxos. It has more shade than Levrekio Beach and doesn’t shelve quite as steeply. It is also slightly easier underfoot and always seems to have fewer sea urchins.

The views too are exceptional and, if you feel like a stroll and a swim before breakfast, it is particularly lovely in the early morning light.
